Entry-Level Jobs Vanish as UK Youth Face Severe Employment Struggles
A major study has suggested that there will be a "lost generation" in the country since over a million young people are NEET. Ex-minister Alan Milburn has claimed that systems which are supposed to prepare youngsters for life are broken as there has been a decrease in the number of entry-level positions available by 1.6 million during the past two decades. Young job-seekers usually have to undergo hundreds of rejections and suffer from psychological problems along with "economic scarring," which might result in a yearly loss of £125bn for the UK economy. Although there have been promises of reforms and new job grants, critics say that the increase in taxes and business expenses will make things more difficult for young job-seekers.
